So I have decided to go green all the way in my life! I am going to be a social carnivore, eat fresh and local, reuse, reduce, upcycle, pre-cycle and recycle as often as possible. I have watched tons of documentaries about food/environment issues such as:
Netflix
-Food Fight
-Dirt! The Movie
-What's On Your Plate?
-Bag It
-Forks Over Knives
-Fed Up
-No Impact Man: The Documentary
-Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead
-TED Talks: Chew on This
-Fresh
-Ingredients
Hulu
-Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution
-Simple Living with Wanda Urbanska
I am planning on doing the following:
REDUCE
-Invest in cloth napkins to cut out reliance on paper towels and paper napkins
-Choose to purchase food items or personal items in recyclable or reduced amounts of plastic and throw-away wrapping
-Buy used as often as possible to cut down on packaging (also REUSING)
REUSE
-Take used items like t-shirts, light bulbs, mason jars, etc and use green design to decorate my space (cheaper, cooler, unique, and helps me nest without guilt!)
-Invest in good water bottles and mugs instead of depending on water bottles
-Fruit and vegetable bags allow me to shop without relying on plastic bags each time I go shopping (locally and organic as often as possible of course) (also REDUCING)
-Make my own beauty products and cut down on bottles and jars and containers each time (also REDUCING)
RECYLCE
-Compost pile!!
-Continue separating batteries, paper, cardboard, bottles, and cans from my refuse for recycling
Lots more to come!!
